Getting a suit that fits well starts with taking accurate body measurements. The measuring tape should be fitted snug against the skin and body for all measurements. We suggest taking measurements in a swimsuit or undergarments (not over clothing) for accuracy.
The goal of measuring is to determine the correct size to order for each athlete. Accurate measurements are vital to the proper fit of your athlete's apparel. Please make sure that all athletes are wearing fitted workout apparel during the measurement session.
Chest Measurement
Measure the chest with arms at the side. Be sure to take the measurement at the fullest part of the chest.
Waist Measurement
Measure the waist at the natural waistline which is the narrowest part of the waist. If you're having trouble locating the natural waist, have the athlete bend to the side. The natural waist is where the body bends.
Hip Measurement
Take the hip measurement at the fullest part of the buttocks with the athlete's feet together.
Torso Measurement
Take the torso measurement from the center of the shoulder, down the torso, through legs, and back to the shoulder.
Inseam Measurement
Take the leg inseam measure the athlete without shoes by running the tape from the crotch to one inch above the floor.

Tips on choosing a fabric: If you are looking for durability, 100% Polyester is the #1 choice. Our Reliance® 100% Polyester fabric has remained strong in the competitive swimwear industry for over 20 years. Whether blended with Xtra Life Lycra® or by itself, polyester is the leading fabric for competitive swimwear. New technologies in polyester have improved the hand and feel of the material, allowing it to surpass other fabrics. Polyester holds its color and is resistant to chlorine.
Characteristics of polyester fabric are:
For comfort, lighter use of swimwear nylon blends are the way to go. Often blended with Spandex or Xtra Life Lycra® for elasticity.
Pros:
Comfort, offers a lightweight, smooth fit. Quick-drying and low-water absorbency. Typically lower cost than polyester.
Cons:
Has less resistance to prolonged sun exposure, and chlorine so fabric will fade much faster, lose shape than polyester. It’s just the nature of the different fibers! (To help, rinse with cool, fresh water after each use.)
